Doll Vault Privacy Policy

Summary: Doll Vault is a local-first app. Your inventory data—items, photos, and valuations—is stored on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. Certain optional features (feedback submission) transmit limited data to third-party services as described below.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Inventory data: Item names, descriptions, photos, condition ratings, purchase details, estimated values, and organizational tags you enter into the app. This data is stored locally on your device.
- Wishlist data: Items you add to your "In Search Of" list, including titles, descriptions, priority, and links.
- Feedback: If you choose to submit feedback through the app, we collect the message you write, the feedback category, and optionally your email address if you provide one.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifier: A randomly generated identifier stored locally to support app functionality. This is not linked to your identity.
- Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous data about how features are used (e.g., which screens are viewed, how many items are added). Analytics events do not contain item names, photos, prices, or any personally identifiable information.
- App and device metadata: App version, operating system, and platform, collected as part of analytics and feedback.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core inventory management functionality of the app, entirely on your device.
- To deliver catalog reference data and inspirational content from our servers.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the app through anonymous analytics.
- To respond to feedback you submit.
3. Third-Party Services

4. Camera and Photo Library Access
Doll Vault requests access to your device's camera and photo library solely to let you photograph and attach images of your collectible items. Photos are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted externally.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Local-first architecture: All inventory data (items, photos, wishlists, tags) is stored in a local database on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers.
- Cached content: Catalog reference data and inspirational content are downloaded from our servers and cached locally for offline use.
- Transmission security: All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.
6. Data Retention
- Inventory data: Stored on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app.
- Feedback: Retained on our servers to help us improve the app. You may request deletion by contacting us.
- Analytics data: Retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention policies.
7. Your Choices and Controls
- Delete your data: You can delete any items, photos, or wishlist entries within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
- Camera and photo permissions: You can grant or revoke camera and photo library access through your device's system settings at any time.
- Feedback email: Providing an email address when submitting feedback is optional.
8. Children's Privacy
Doll Vault is suitable for users of all ages. For children under 13, we recommend that a parent or guardian manage the app on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the feedback feature without parental consent, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
